ODETTE RILEY has been crafting since the age of five.  Her mom taught her how to sew and quilt, and a second grade teacher got her interested in weaving. She built her own inkle loom and has been weaving bands for the last several years. She has found that figuring out how people make things helps her deal with ADD.  Her unique vision and wide variety of interests is clearly evident on her Facebook page: Oak Leaf Beads and Crafts.

PIN LOOM WEAVING  Beginner & Beyond

Pin loom weaving is done on small handheld looms.  The small squares that are produced can be used for multiple purposes.  They make great coasters, but most often, the squares are assembled into bags, garments, and household items like pillows or placemats—even blankets.

The craft of pin loom weaving first appeared in the 1930’s, but it fell out-of-fashion in the mid-1960’s.  There has, however, been a resurgence of interest in pin loom weaving in recent years.  There are now books, videos, and magazines dedicated to the promotion of this craft.

In this class, you will learn the basics.  Once you accomplish that, the possibilities are infinite.

A loom is included in the class price.
